Before I found Brian Peskin's original book on the effects of Essential Fatty Acids (EFAs) and carbohydrates on our body and the severe damage that we experience when we are don't understand the truth of the matter, I was a low-fat, carbohydrate advocate.

Like everyone else I know I was suffering from decades of "carbohydrate and bad-fat brain washing" by my peers, the sports industry, the government, nutritionists, the exercise industry and just about everyone! Everyone except Brian Peskin, that is.

I didn't know anything about Essential Fatty Acids and how our body NEEDS them for life. Brian Peskin's book taught me the truth. He also showed us all how believing "a balanced diet, with everything in harmony from natural sources" simply will not give us the EFAs we need. Why? Well, because it is known very well in the science community that these essential oils are extremely heat sensitive! How many of us devour raw flesh these days? Very few. How about eggs? Do we guzzle them down raw? Not in North America that is for sure! Fish oils are supposed to have a lot of these EFAs but how do you get oil from a fish? Do you squeeze it out like milk from a cow's udder? No way. You have to heat it, boil it, press it and separate the oil from all the fish particles. Then you have to worry about the stink. My brother vomits when he tries to take fish pills because of the flavor and the smell.

I thought that "energy" for life had to come from carbohydrates such as pasta, rice, cereals, grains, bagels, potatoes, and so on. What nobody told me in layman's terms was that all of these foods are basically long chain sugars bound together: (C6-H12-O6)x (where "x" is the number of sugar molecules bound together) and that when the body started to work on the foods, it basically broke all the chains apart to give us C6-H12-O6, or .... sugar!

I would stuff my face with these foods only to be constantly starving, cranky when I was hungry, exhausted and unable to stay up past 10pm. But after many tests, the doctors knew nothing.

Brian Peskin did. After I got his book and was shocked by what he had to say, I challenged him and his writings. But it turned out that Brian was right.

Did you know that the body takes anything over 1tsp of sugar and tries to get rid of it by converting it into body fat through the use of insulin, the "fat storage hormone"? Have you ever wondered why you can't get rid of the fat around your belly, or the wobbly triceps, or that triple chin in spite of the aerobics, the running, the skiing, the cycling, the swimming and more? I bet you thought you had to do more, and that you weren't doing enough. Heck, Richard Simmons says you have to exercise at least an hour every day! Think about it: an hour of exercise usually means about 2 hours or more of changing clothes, warming up, exercising, cooling down, cleaning the sweat off, changing and going back to your routine. That is a lot of time in our busy life. Yet you probably have been doing it. Has it helped? Probably not as much as you would have liked. So should you increase two three hours? Quit your job? Get a divorce and live alone so you can focus solely on exercising your face off? Get a life! It isn't working. The information out there is only messing you up. If it was right, you should have seen results. But who knew about this?

Well, Brian Peskin knew all about this over a decade ago and told us all about it. Who listened? Not enough of us it seems. Look at the obesity, cancer, heart disease rates in the USA today. Diabetes? Wow! America seems to be the Mecca of health and fitness. When the rest of the world looks at Americans, though, they see sick, hugely obese disgusting people out there sicker and fatter than imaginable. What happened to all these people going nuts exercising hours and hours a day and eating "healthy food" as they are told to do? Something is wrong. Brian Peskin knows this and is trying to tell the world.

Now it is happening in Japan too. Japanese follow in the footsteps of the USA father. After all we are an occupied country and have been since WWII. But we are occupied with much more than military troops. Our entire philosophy is occupied by the USA and those that run the country (and try to rule the world). Japanese are so indoctrinated by the way of the USA lifestyle and all of her propaganda, that within my 15 years of life here, (at this time of writing) obesity has skyrocketed, heart disease has jumped, cancers are on the rise, illness is unbelievable. It confirms absolutely everything Brian Peskin has been raving about.

Brian Peskin's raves are real. You NEED to listen to them. You might immediately think "Atkins" or "South Beach" and those other "low carb diets" but what Brian Peskin is talking about is so much deeper than that. It cuts to the core of the problem. (By the way the Atkins Diet and South Beach Diet don't work well for a long period of time. Everyone slides back and then the media says, "Not much change with Weight Watchers". The reason is because they miss a crucial point.)

Brian Peskin has this point pinpointed so that if you listen to what he says, you will NEVER have to worry about struggling with dieting and cravings ever again. I kid you not.

I tested Brian Peskin's theories on myself, my wife, my best friend, other people in different cultures around the world, and even on my dog (because dog's, as far as I know, cannot suffer from brainwashing). Every single time, time and time again over the 7 years I have been a believer of what Brian Peskin advocates, the results are always the same: improved health, loss of weight, improved everything. And it is all naturally with absolutely no "dieter's spirit" required.

Brian Peskin is the only person out there (aside from those of us that know the truth now) who has FINALLY gotten it right.

A few years ago I took the time to travel to the USA to meet with Brian Peskin. He is a fantastic guy and really believes in everything he has researched. Last year I met him again. We talk regularly and he has become a very good friend. I hope to meet him again soon. In the meantime I will continue to "evangelize" the research of Brian Peskin to as many people as will listen.

Here is a very interesting anecdote, something that is apparently impossible in the medical world:

A couple of years ago I met a very important person in the Japanese telecommunications behemoth. We were at an Italian restaurant because he was a lover of Italian food. During the dinner I started evangelizing about the evils of carbohydrates. Of course, loving everything that is carbohydrate (and Japanese eat a ton of carbohydrates, thinking they are all healthy) he challenged me. He also suffered from diabetes and after about five years of living with it, he was beginning to see the more serious side of the disease: heart palpitations, clogged arteries, obesity and everything that goes hand in hand with this "incurable" disease. So, since sugar is the bane of diabetics, during my talk (pasta is a sugar, rice is a sugar, beer is a sugar, milk is a sugar, fruit is a sugar, potatoes are a sugar etc.....) something clicked. In Japanese, diabetes is called "sugar disease". My friend realized that adult onset diabetes (adult onset sugar disease), something you are not born with but get later in life, can only come on by having taking too many sugars!

Well, he decided to cut all sugars out of his life for a month. That meant cutting out all of the things he loved and sticking to meat, cheese, eggs, fish, vegetables etc, in a wide variety of forms. It wasn't hard. And he lost 6kg in the month and gained a ton of energy. All of his blood tests improved and the doctors were amazed.

Next he listened to me about the essential fatty acids that Brian Peskin talks with great detail about. He found the right blend of these EFAs (Brian talks about this as well) and started taking them. His health, his energy, his everything improved so much that everyone was astounded! (Even his wife found it rather "discomforting" that his sexual advances and desire toward her increased tremendously as well -this all over 60 years of age, I might add!). Blood tests returned to the "great for your age" level, and his irregular heartbeat went back to normal. He felt fantastic. In fact, all of his golf buddies couldn't understand why he could run them ragged on the fairways.

After six months his doctor gave him the news that the unprecedented had happened: his diabetes had completely disappeared! This was about two years ago and he is still getting younger and younger every time I see him. It amazes me but it really seems that time has stopped for my very good 60's something friend and that he has found his "fountain of youth".

Here is another great anecdote:

My dog is 16 years old. When he was about eight years old he was going through the usual aging dog stage of obesity, pain in the joints, and so forth. We were following the traditional belief and giving him diet food and geriatric dog food which are high in carbohydrate and fiber, but low in protein and fat. Nothing worked of course so we would try to exercise him to death. He would eat all of his food in the dish and then go out and eat all the garbage he could find because the food we gave him was never enough. One day I realized that he was just like me: eating a lot of carbohydrates but always hungry.

I was at the stage where I believed Brian Peskin because what he teaches worked for me (and my wife and friend) but wondered if the results were not my brain wanting to believe so badly in it that it made it true. Being a scientist in educational background I wanted to experiment on my dog to see if it would work. As far as I know pets cannot be indoctrinated to believe things that people say (Pavlov's bell aside).

I did a test. I switched his food and started to give him nothing but high protein, high fat, and low carbohydrate dog food that is designed for puppies 1-12 months. The food is Eukanuba Puppy Food and it has the highest fat/protein content of anything out there.

It was amazing. Nearly immediately he started self-feeding, stopped going out looking for garbage, lost the extra kilograms which can be very deadly to pets and was no longer hungry. Several years later his coat is still amazing (sheds like crazy in the house) and he has stayed at an amazing 18.4kg (perfect for his size) for these entire years! Now of course, since he is so old he sleeps most of the day therefore has lost some muscle naturally and a bit of weight with it, but other than that, he is perfectly fine and suffers none of the ailments of a dog his age. We walk, run, play. He eats and sleeps very healthily.

How is that for an amazing story or two?

Now I know some (many) of you will still strive to find some excuse to say it won't work for you. But it will. I know it. I have the confidence from years of testing what Brian Peskin has taught me.
