Welcome to the Sushi-Ya where we offer you an exciting menu, something to please every palate.

Here you will find a wide range of "foods", ranging from Japanese sushi and ramen to western food, fruits and vegetables, and yes even dessert. Please feel free to order as much as you like.

Our stock is somewhat limited therefore orders will be filled on a first-come first-served basis. Actually, we have completely run out and have nothing left to sell!

I have collected a large variety of novelty erasers in the shape of various foods. Japan is well-known for it's "cute factor" and this extends to the stationery here as well. These erasers work very well, but they look even better. Each eraser is approximately 5cm in length. I don't think that these products can be found outside of Japan. The makers seem to have stopped making the sushi erasers so I only have about 100 in total. Once they are gone, the restaurant will have to temporarily close until we can restock supplies. Other kinds of novelty erasers can be purchased if desired. Please contact the gallery managers by writing to info @ japanippon (dot) com for details if you are looking for something specific.

This is an experiment in goodwill. Many people are afraid of internet commerce and feel that all transactions are potential ripoffs. I want to show that this is not true. I cannot accept credit cards as I am not a business, nor is this a profit-making venture. Personal checks are not valid here in Japan. All I can accept is cash. Cash that you mail to me in good faith (and we hope the postal workers don't siphon it off).

This is how the restaurant works:

  1. When you have decided what you would like to order, e-mail the master your choices.
  2. He will then find out how much the shipping will be and inform you.
  3. An invoice (HTML) will be e-mailed to you.
  4. Hide the money in an envelope (unless it is a big order) and mail it to the master (the address will be on the invoice).
  5. As soon as your money arrives the order will be mailed to you. If the order is small it may be mailed before the payment arrives (this is where the trust works on both parts)
  6. You will then be contacted again, and informed of the date your payment arrived, and when the goods were mailed to you.
  7. The Japanese Postal System is very efficient and usually mail to North America arrives in less than 10 days.
  8. When your order arrives if you could let the master know that you got it, and whether you are happy with it or not, he would be grateful.

So, are you willing to give this goodwill experiment a try?
